Instagram stories buggy

I don’t have “hide stories” enabled for Instagram, but I still experience some issues with stories. The stories aren’t coming up like how they would on the app. My husband’s stories are often on the front when using the app, but I don’t see his stories at all on the list. The top of the stories list are accounts I don’t even recognize. And with the current issues with not being able to search, I could only view my husband’s stories by accessing his account through his DM.

Hey thank you for the bug report, I'm investigating this now.

I found a fix for the stories issue. If you turn off the “friends only mode” in settings, then when you open instagram through the app tap on “following” in the top left and it will be like normal. Except you have to see suggested posts and some ads, which I don’t mind.

I tried the following: Friends-only mode: off, Hide stories: off. No stories coming up at all. Screenshots for reference, that’s the top of my feed, no stories whatsoever.

Yep if you just click following in the top left it will take you to the more normal instagram and let you see stories. I also found you don’t have to click that every time you open the app, I think after a few times every time I open instagram through dull now it goes straight to the main page.

Thanks Jack! Turned clicked on “Following” and I was able to sê friends’ stories. But when I went back to enable Friends-only mode, friends stories disappeared again. That mode might be conflicting with stories filter some how. @Kaspar, thanks for looking into this.
